Hi there—So I’ve been a huge slacker lately, or rather really busy with work and my social life, which I guess is a good thing. But at any rate, I’m going to make a solid effort to update my blog more often.
For now, check out these lovely glasses from Anthropologie, aren’t they fabulous? I think I need 2 in every color.
My birthday is next month… just sayin’
The highly anticipated “Wrap Top” is now complete! Though this is an incredibly simple “pattern,” it took me an entire Sunday to finish. No major hiccups, which I’d say is a first in my sewing career. At any rate, it was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for the weather to get warmer so I can wear it in all it’s glory.
I made a few changes from the tutorial:
Smaller sleeves, plus added a little pleat so they don’t stick out so far
Side button closures to eliminate “side boob”
Ties in the back, rather than the front
Two-tone tie
Made the front a little longer so I could have the tie at my natural waist, without making it a belly shirt
Handmade gifts are [generally] more appreciated than store bought ones. I made these 6 pairs of earrings for my 6 closests friends; keeping in mind each of their unique styles and favorite colors. The most time consuming part was making the little fabric bags I put them in:
On a recent trip to San Luis Obispo my good friend and crafting confidante, Miss Crayola Creepy, brought me to her favorite fabric store, which just so happen to be having a sale (Afterall, who doesn’t love a good deal)! I managed to find 3 fabrics I just couldn’t live without and bought 1 yard of each. I’ve been trying to decide what to use them for, when I came across this image, and a fellow crafter’s tutorial on how to make it.
Looks like I found a great way to use a yard of my fabulous fabric, and a way to occupy my time before getting ready for New Years Eve! Crossing my fingers I’ll actually do it… Wish me luck.
These guys are nuts, but I can’t even imagine the adrenaline high they must feel. Would love to say I’d try it, but get me barefoot on that cliff, and I might have a different opinion.

One thing that definitely needs to be in my next apartment (and future home… whenever that may be) is exposed wood floors. Wood is beautiful. Carpet is not. Wood cleans easy. Carpet does not. You can slide across a wood floor in your socks… oh come on, you know you can’t resist either.
